Gearing up for Fall…

Hi everyone-

Well, the summer is over and the craziest part is that around here in the Bay Area, September and October seem to have the best weather.  So, I’ll be soaking up some sun while its still here but soon enough I know I’ll be itching to get my snowboard out of the garage.

Needless to say, its been pretty busy around the house since Tolan and Dorothy came home from the hospital and we’ve just been taking some time to introduce Dorothy to everybody and spend some good quality family time around the house.  Hayden has really taken to her and it is really amazing to watch them together.

But, we did get away for a couple of days when the entire family headed up to Calistoga for group vacation.  Tolan’s brother arranged for a big house for us all to chill out, swim and play with the kids and it was truly the most relaxing thing I’ve done in a long time.  No cell phones, no meetings, just hangin’ with the gang.  I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.  Take a peek at this picture of Hayden and I in the pool…I love it.

Vacation is over and its time to get back to work and I hope to be seeing some of you soon.  While I’m on my way to New York to shoot some new episodes of Tyler’s Ultimate, I’m going to stop through my hometown of Greenville, SC, to take part in an amazing food festival called Euphoria on September 13 and 14.  There’s a great line up of chefs and the proceeds support some amazing local charities.  If you are in the area, come on down to Greenville and say hello.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as I fill you in on a bunch of dates for my upcoming book tour to support the release of my two new books, Stirring the Pot and Dinner At My Place.  Its going to be a busy Fall season and I look forward to seeing a lot of you along the way.

Cheers,

Tyler

Great pic! I really need to get down to SC and check out the food scene – I’ve heard so many great things about it. I am excited for the fall; indoor/outdoor parties, the fire burning, the little chill in the air – that’s the east coast version. You’ve gotta hit Philly again, T!

Sounds like an amazing, relaxing time with the family!

If you head North on the book singings… I hope you swing through Roseburg (right off the 5)… We’d love to see you!! With an open family invitation for a cocktail at my family’s private Ranch.

    Hi Tyler and Company.
That is the meaning of “a picture is worth a thousand words” What a special bond! I am so excited (as well as a lot of others, I am sure) that you are going to make it to Greenville this year. I pray you will have better luck at the airport this year than last. Is there a websight that would give us the details and schedule for the Euphoria weekend? Please keep us informed and I hope to finally meet you soon!
    Wishing all the
    BEST,
    ELLIE

first of all, congratulations on your baby girl! she is adorable. and i love this picture of you and hayden. i used to just read your blogs but i couldn’t resist myself this time and i had to make an account just to drop you a line. that picture really got me. 🙂

i’m from az originally and i’m in alameda temporarily with my family ‘coz of my husband’s job. i was so excited to come here because i planned on going to your store (aside from the fact that i love sfo…last time i was here was 13yrs ago). last weekend, we were in Muir Woods and i had already planned on passing by your store. but my sister who came to visit wanted so much to take advantage of Labor day sale so we had to rush and i just completely forgot about it. oh, i was so upset. but my husband promised me he will bring me there one of these days. 🙂

i am a huge, huge fan of your show “Tyler’s Ultimate”. i have tried some of your dishes for thanksgiving and new year’s and i could say it turned out pretty well. since then i’ve been browsing thru your dishes on foodnetwork.com if i wanna try something new. your dishes taste really great and yet they’re something that an ordinary homemaker like me can prepare for the family. thanks for sharing your gift with us. goodluck and keep us updated on that book tour! i might meet you on one of your stops.

I hope that you will be visiting the Philadelphia area on your book tour. I’d love to get mine signed!

And, I’m so happy to read that you will be taping a new season soon. Looking forward to lovely new flavors and your handsome masculine visage.

    Sincerely,

    Tyler,
    Congratulations on your amazing life!
I’ve got to talk my sisters into a road tripto your shop (I’m in Reno, they’re in Santa Cruz). I like the pretty artisctic representation of your storefront on the web page, but would love to see some photos.
I have all your books and I use them. Your “Seared Tuna with Avocado” OMG!, and my sister makes your “Baked Eggplant Rigatoni” repeatedly. But you’re coming out with two new paperback cookbooks; and I hope you don’t think it’s rude to ask…but I’m wondering if they will contain recipes from your previous volumes; or will all the recipes be new? I mean, that’s a lot of recipes. I will buy “Dinner at My Place” regardless, just for the adorable cover, and hope of more home photos; but I would like to know if I’ll be seeing familiar recipes. Of course, I would love for them to be all new, but that’s a lot to expect. And if the recipes are recycled, it will help to cushion the blow, if I know ahead of time.
Tyler, thank you for all your beautiful contributions to my food world…v
