Hi everyone-

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great holiday season and had plenty of time to get into the kitchen and dish up some fun with family and friends.

Here in California, we were pretty busy with three kids and a busy household. Miles is twelve, so he knows the Christmas drill. Hayden is 18 months and he’s just about to start figuring the whole Santa thing out. And little Dorothy is only 4 months so this is her first Holiday experience. So, that meant lots of family and friends, lots of fun and of course, a lot of meals made for holiday eaters, big and small. As you can imagine, whether its the Holidays or just Tuesday night dinner, I’ve got a lot of work to do when I get into the kitchen. And to get the best results possible, it is of the greatest importance that I have cookware that’s up to the task.

So, I wanted to invite you all to tune into HSN  on Sunday (check http://www.hsn.com/cnt/program_guide/default.aspx?typ=1&pg=1&disp=0&usai=0&date=1/18/2009for times) where you can take part in the launch of my new signature cookware, TY-CLAD, which features a combination of hard annodized aluminum and stainless steel to create the ultimate in heat conductivity, durability and functionality. And unlike most other cookware sets you’ll find, I’ve added a special coating to TY-CLAD that allows you to throw these right into your dishwasher. So, when I get to work in my kitchen, I know I’m going to get the best results out of my cookware and with the specially designed extra-long arc’d handle and sleek styling, my kitchen’s going to look great in the process.

I can’t wait for you all to try TY-CLAD and I look forward to keeping in touch and keep you posted on what’s going on in my life and my kitchen.

Cheers,

Tyler

Atlanta

November 14, 2008

Hi everyone-

I’m just at the airport waiting to head home to San Francisco after a couple of amazing events in Atlanta with Macy’s and Project Open Hands. It was great to see so many of you at the demo and book signing yesterday. And this morning, it was truly inspiring to work with Macy’s and Project Open Hands as part of Macy’s Million Meal Program. Helping others, especially in these trying economic times, is as rewarding as it gets. And as we head into the Holidays, I hope you’ll all have a chance to share whatever you can with those who are less fortunate. If you want more information on the program and ideas on how you can participate, check out http://www.macys.com/campaign/millionmeals.jsp

And if you didn’t get a chance to come by and say hi on the last month of my book tour, ‘Dinner At My Place’ and ‘Stirring the Pot’ are on sale now at The Tyler Florence Shop. They are full of great recipes, tricks and tips that will help you through the Holiday Season. To order your autographed copies, please contact The Tyler Florence Shop at 415.380.9200 or by email orders@tylerflorence.com. Each book is $19.95 plus applicable tax and shipping.

Rock the Vote

October 30, 2008

Hi everyone-

Its been a whirlwind week…a new city every day or so.  SF, LA, NOLA, NY, CHI…its been great to see so many of you and to hear all of your responses to ‘Stirring the Pot’ and ‘Dinner at My Place.’

I’m on my way home today to spend Halloween with the family.  It’s Dorothy’s first and Hayden is an old pro having aced last year’s costume contest.  I can’t wait to see if he really gets it this time.

Speaking of Hayden, he wanted to remind you all to get out there and vote on the 4th. It’s our duty to do so and no matter where you sit in the political spectrum, just make sure you get out there and do your part.

Cheers,

Tyler

Hittin’ the road…

September 12, 2008

Hi everyone-

The Fall travel season has started and like I said, I hope to see some of you out on the road.

This morning, I’m heading to my hometown of Greenville, South Carolina, to spend a couple of days with my family and take part in a great festival called Euphoria.  If you are in the area, come on by Saturday and Sunday.

Then, I’m off to NY to shoot some great new episodes of Tyler’s Ultimate.  I can’t wait to get back on set.  Once we get into the groove, the creative energy is really great.  My producer, Mark Dissin, and I have been making television for a long time and together with my Culinary Director, Anthony, we have a really good flow on set.  A lot of my best recipes are born on Ultimate and its always a great creative journey that is extra special as I get to share it all with you in the finished product.

My last hurrah of summer came last weekend as the family headed to Half Moon Bay, CA, to celebrate my father-in-law’s birthday.  I think Larry “Frank” Moss turned about 39 this year so we had to do something special.  It was a nice, relaxing weekend in one of the most beautiful spots in Northern California.  But, despite all the breathtaking ocean views, I think Hayden’s favorite part of the trip was eating grandpa’s cake.

Cheers,

Tyler

Gearing up for Fall…

September 3, 2008

Hi everyone-

Well, the summer is over and the craziest part is that around here in the Bay Area, September and October seem to have the best weather.  So, I’ll be soaking up some sun while its still here but soon enough I know I’ll be itching to get my snowboard out of the garage.

Needless to say, its been pretty busy around the house since Tolan and Dorothy came home from the hospital and we’ve just been taking some time to introduce Dorothy to everybody and spend some good quality family time around the house.  Hayden has really taken to her and it is really amazing to watch them together.

But, we did get away for a couple of days when the entire family headed up to Calistoga for group vacation.  Tolan’s brother arranged for a big house for us all to chill out, swim and play with the kids and it was truly the most relaxing thing I’ve done in a long time.  No cell phones, no meetings, just hangin’ with the gang.  I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.  Take a peek at this picture of Hayden and I in the pool…I love it.

Vacation is over and its time to get back to work and I hope to be seeing some of you soon.  While I’m on my way to New York to shoot some new episodes of Tyler’s Ultimate, I’m going to stop through my hometown of Greenville, SC, to take part in an amazing food festival called Euphoria on September 13 and 14.  There’s a great line up of chefs and the proceeds support some amazing local charities.  If you are in the area, come on down to Greenville and say hello.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as I fill you in on a bunch of dates for my upcoming book tour to support the release of my two new books, Stirring the Pot and Dinner At My Place.  Its going to be a busy Fall season and I look forward to seeing a lot of you along the way.

Cheers,

Tyler
